In 2018, Guernsey's most innovative estate agent, Livingroom, took the unprecedented step of opening their business over in Jersey, aiming to shake up the market with a new level of service and marketing professionalism. They asked TPA to assist with the launch - modernising their brand and developing a new, pan-island website to accompany opening day.
How do you improve on a multi-award winning product? The previous website we'd designed for Livingroom was much loved, and much used by the house-buying market. Our mission was to innovate the user experience, while pairing back the interface to simple essentials that allowed the properties to be the stars of the Livingroom digital experience. At the same time, the website needed to shake up the buying experience enough to help Livingroom make a real splash in their new marketplace. We were also challenged to move an established brand forward, complementing Livingroom's established and sophisticated reputation.
We worked closely with the principles of the previous brand to re-energise and update Livingroom's look, creating a more modern, balanced approach to representing the company. It speaks effectively to their move from challenger to leader. On the new website, a strikingly simple yet detailed interface is elevated by subtle interaction design and touch behaviours - motion clues, pinch and swipe, reveals - that make property exploration comfortable and natural across phone, tablet or desktop. TPA introduced first-to-market property exploration tools, like changing views in search and live property interest data for vendors, that complement a fully redesigned search UX fine-tuned for speed. The website is built on our fully bespoke management system that pulls and pushes data via UK property management software and portals.
