Hacked Off campaigns for a free and accountable press. Established in 2011, it has become an influential movement for change in UK press regulation policy. The organisation works with, and has the support of, many victims of press abuses. They asked TPA to produce an online and printed booklet outlining their initiative to demonstrate that self-regulation under the Royal Charter is in the best interests of news publishers.
The printed booklet was distributed to every regional and local newspaper in the UK showing that they would be better off financially and in terms of risk, and their journalists would enjoy more freedom by following the Charter route of self-regulation.
