For designers, Christmas comes early every year… usually around August. While you were probably unpacking your suitcase from a summer holiday and wondering how to get the most out of your tan before it faded away, your humble designer was probably already knee deep in snowy imagery and doing his best to avoid as many Christmas cliche headlines as possible. Probably without success (I’m sure there’s ample data out there proving that no new creative Christmas copy has been written since Charles Dickens penned ‘Bah Humbug!’).

What a brand is and why it should be consistent When we think about brands, we usually think about logos, straplines, colour palettes, positioning statements and imagery. But these things aren’t the brand itself, they’re representations of the brand. The actual brand is defined, more or less, by two things: values and personality.

We use storytelling to process information and communicate with one another. We talk about news stories and we structure our conversations as stories (“you’ll never guess what Dave got caught doing in the bushes…”). The science behind storytelling is rock solid: we find stories compelling, and they can provoke powerful behavioural responses (if you want the science, click here).

We are looking for an ambitious and motivated person to join our digital marketing team in Jersey. Someone with a strategic outlook, a keen interest in tech and strong business acumen. You will work closely with the creative, client and development teams to help plan and execute multi-channeled marketing campaigns. You will have some experience of marketing / PR and have a passion for helping businesses succeed. You are comfortable in front of existing clients and also relish the opportunity to bring in new ones. A good technical awareness of what is possible online mixed with a creative flair that enables you to develop the ‘big idea’ would definitely tick a lot of boxes for us.
